What Remy Actually Means
The term Remy is widely used and widely misunderstood. In its true definition, Remy hair is human hair where all strands are collected and kept aligned in the same direction — cuticle end to cuticle end. This alignment prevents the tangling that occurs when cuticles from opposite ends interlock. BiziLuxe uses exclusively single-drawn Remy hair, where all follicle directions are preserved from collection to finished weft. Non-Remy hair — even when labelled as human hair — will tangle, mat and fade because the cuticle alignment has been compromised.
Our Sourcing Standards
BiziLuxe hair is sourced from a small number of verified suppliers with whom we have developed long-term relationships. We do not work with anonymous intermediaries or mass-market hair factories. Every supplier we work with must meet our ethical sourcing standards — ensuring that donors are fairly compensated, that collection practices are transparent, and that supply chains are traceable. We audit our suppliers annually and make sourcing decisions based on quality and ethics, not cost alone.
From Collection to Processing
After collection, hair is sorted by length, thickness and texture before any chemical processing. Colour treatment — for non-natural-black shades — is applied using low-ammonia formulations that preserve cuticle integrity. Bleaching for lighter shades uses a progressive approach with conditioning treatments applied between each stage. The result is colour that is vibrant without the brittleness associated with aggressively processed hair.
Quality Control at Every Stage
Each weft undergoes inspection at three stages: after processing, after quality sorting, and upon arrival at OlivHairSupply before it enters our inventory. We test for cuticle integrity, colour consistency, strength and elasticity. Any weft that does not meet our standard is rejected — it does not become a BiziLuxe product, regardless of the cost involved.
