Wedding hair has no margin for error. It needs to look exceptional from the ceremony through to the end of the evening, through hundreds of photographs, in outdoor and indoor lighting, and through whatever emotion the day brings. When Priya approached us eight weeks before her wedding, she had a precise vision and zero room for compromise.
The Vision
Priya wanted length that would fall to her lower back in the reception style — significant, given that her natural hair sat just below her shoulders. She wanted a specific colour: a dark brown with warm chestnut undertones that would photograph richly without looking artificial. And she wanted extensions she could wear through three months of wedding preparation appointments without disruption. Colour Matching
Priya's natural colour was a complex medium brown with subtle red undertones — difficult to match accurately. We brought three colour options into the consultation and assessed them in natural window light and under our salon lighting. The final selection was a blend of Medium Brown (4) and Chestnut Brown (8) tape-in wefts layered through the mid-lengths and ends. The blend added depth and dimension that read as entirely natural in every lighting condition we assessed.
The Wedding Day Styling
Two hours before the ceremony, Priya's stylist built the ceremony updo — a low, romantic chignon with loose face-framing tendrils. The extensions provided the volume and length that made the updo architectural rather than modest. For the reception, the style was released into a half-up, half-down arrangement with soft waves. The additional length fell to exactly the point Priya had envisioned, precisely as planned at the consultation eight weeks earlier.
After the Wedding
Priya kept the tape-in extensions in for a further six weeks after the wedding — they had become a part of her daily look that she was not ready to give up.
